A long story cut short

Since its foundation in 1866 in the North Rhine-Westphalia region of Germany, Borgers has mostly been a supplier to the automotive industry, even though then it was horse and buggy coaches which were fitted with wadding. At the same time, Borgers is actually one of the oldest recycling companies, as even then company founder Johann Borgers used shredded fiber in manufacturing. i.e. raw material obtained from second hand textiles and leftovers from the clothing industry.

By growing steadily, Borgers, with its sites and co-operations, has developed into a worldwide operating partner of the automotive industry, now supplying acoustically effective textile components from their 25 plants. They also use their competence in the development of insulating materials for domestic appliances.

The company further owns the special machinery manufacturers Olbrich and R+S Technik. Borger Group as a whole comprises more than 7,500 employees worldwide.

With their headquarters in Bocholt in Westphalia, Borgers SE & Co. KGaA is still in the possession of and managed by the founder’s family, now in their 5th generation.
