20 Acres Sold to Spartanburg Community College

We are pleased to announce the representation of Spartanburg Community College in the purchase of two commercial properties in Gaffney, SC, expanding SCC’s Cherokee County Campus footprint and providing additional land for future development to serve their students and our community.

The properties include the former Fatz Cafe restaurant and a ±20-acre land tract, both located under the iconic Peachoid water tower on I-85. This $50M+ investment will transform the campus, adding enhanced academic facilities and the Spark Center, a business accelerator to support regional growth.

Enrollment at SCC has surged by 62% since 2020, with over 6,700 students across five campuses, demonstrating the need for this expansion. As Dr. Michael Mikota, SCC President, puts it: “This historic milestone drives South Carolina forward into a new age of innovation in higher education and economic development.”

A big thank you to Ethan Burroughs and Michael Mikota for trusting Lyons Industrial Properties to assist with this critical acquisition. It was an honor to work with you on this transformative project!

Great job Bobby Lyons SIOR, CCIM and Luke Lyons on your hard work and persistence in getting these two properties closed! Another excellent buyer representation assignment in the books!
