Contec Inc. will expand operations in Spartanburg County with a $6.25 million investment and the addition of 60 jobs over the next five years, the company announced today.
The company supplies contamination-control products to the pharmaceutical, medical device, bioscience, automotive, aerospace and electronics industries. Its product line includes wipes, mopping systems, wall-washing systems, disinfectants, sponges and swabs.
Contec has moved its operations to a new facility in the Wingo Park with an additional 170,000 square feet of space for manufacturing, research and development, and distribution operations.
“We anticipate manufacturing new innovative product lines currently in development while at the same time giving our customers the same great service they’ve come to expect from Contec,” CEO Jack McBride said in a news release issued by the S.C. Department of Commerce.
Contec has been in Spartanburg 25 years, company President Avi Lawrence said in the release.
